Play Space as Urban Infrastructure


Traditional infrastructure focuses on built environment and natural landscape in reconstruction of post-disaster such as earthquake. A new city for post-traumatic communities requires not just physical recovery but also rebuilding of social connection and community interaction which is called social rebuilding. By building active points in new city, where youth could enjoy various public life and recreation, it is expected a healthy social relationship could be reconnected. Studies show that space with multi-routes and multi-activities could stimulate childrenĂ­s interaction and communication.


By interweaving a number of transport routes, in order to form several of garden views. The compact space and ease of access will be an integral part of community activities, to enhance the residents of the community identity and sense of belonging, and speed up to achieve social integration, promote the spirit of the restoration of individuals, community harmony, and the social balance.PORTFOLIO_2015 37
